I miss you  / Matt Smidowicz (Smitty) (friend)
Sigh.. 40 days until the start of camp. Its going to be a bittersweet day. It will start without one of their precious members who have touched the little ones' ( and big ones for that matter) hearts in some way. Look over all of us please. And make sure it doesnt rain as much as it has the past couple of years. Its hard during the day to focus on school when all i can think about is you. I miss you so much. We started to become closer friends last summer.  I just wish you were still here. Close

Today is your birthday - March 7th  / Tom Poggioli (DAD)
Today is your birthday

without candles and cake.

And since you are not with us,

we will not celebrate.

We cannot send you a birthday card,

your hands we cannot touch.

So we ask God to give a message

to the one we love so much.

And grant us one wish

and make it come true.

To have His choir of Angels sing

Happy Birthday to you.

when i really feel so empty inside,  / Tom (DAD)  Read >>
when i really feel so empty inside,  / Tom (DAD)
it's quite funny how often times i feel so lonely
even if i'm not alone,
how i laugh so hard
when i really feel so empty inside,
how i smile about everything
when all i need is to cry my heart out,
how i seem brave to the world
when i'm such a coward,
how i enjoy other's company
when it's you i want to see,
and how i hate missing you
when you're very far from me... Close
POEM WRITTEN BY CHILD  / A. FRIEND   Read >>
POEM WRITTEN BY CHILD  / A. FRIEND
This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital.

It was sent by a medical doctor - Make sure to read what is in the closing statement AFTER THE POEM.
SLOW DANCE
Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,"Hi"
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music

I'll never forget this  / Maureen Montrose (Classmate)  Read >>
I'll never forget this  / Maureen Montrose (Classmate)
Christina, To this day, THIS moment, when we sang THIS song, will never stop haunting me.  It seems like a bad dream now.. almost 7 months later.  I wish you were here in school with us and I know it sounds stupid but I feel guilty sometimes that I am here and you are not.

You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
Who abide in His shadow for life,
Say to the Lord, "My Refuge,
My Rock in Whom I trust."

      Refrain
And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

The snare of the fowler will never capture you,
    And famine will bring you no fear;
    Under His Wings your refuge,
    His faithfulness your shield.

      Refrain
And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

You need not fear the terror of the night,
Nor the arrow that flies by day,
    Though thousands fall about you,
Near you it shall not come.

      Refrain
And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

For to His angels He's given a command,
To guard you in all of your ways,
Upon their hands they will bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

      Refrain
And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

Who You'd Be Today  / Samantha (Cousin)  Read >>
Who You'd Be Today  / Samantha (Cousin)

I was listening to the radio the other day and heard this song for the first time.  It reminded me of how much I miss you and how I still can't believe that you are gone.  I love you!

Sunny days seem to hurt the most
Wear the pain like a heavy coat
I feel you everywhere I go
See your smile, I see your face
I hear you laughing in the rain
Still can't believe your gone

(Chorus:)
It ain't fair you died to young
Like a story that had just begun
But death tore the pages all away
God knows how I miss you
All the hell that I've been through
Just knowing, no one could take your place
Sometimes I wonder, who you'd be today

Would you see the world
Would you chase your dreams
Settle down with a family
I wonder what would you name your babies
Someday's the sky's so blue
I feel like I can talk to you
And I know it might sound crazy

(Chorus)

Today [3x]
Today [3x]

Sunny days seem to hurt the most
I wear the pain like a heavy coat
The only thing that gives me hope
Is I know, I'll see you again someday

Someday, someday

A Parent's Prayer  / Dad   Read >>
A Parent's Prayer  / Dad

Dear God,
You sent a child to me
To fill my life with joy,
And only You knew which was best --
A little girl or boy.

Somehow I took for granted, Lord,
That we would have a lifetime,
And I made so many future plans
For that precious child of mine.

Enchanted by that Miracle --
Caught up in each new day --
I guess I didn't hear You, Lord,
When You said, "This one can't stay."

I trust You, Lord. Thy will; not mine,
Yet I can't understand
This sudden loss -- the emptiness --
Caused by another's hand.

I know my child's an angel now
But my heart is aching so.
I'm sorry I wasn't ready, Lord,
To let my baby go.

There wasn't time for one last hug;
There was no final kiss.
Oh God, it's all those special smiles
That I already miss.

So Lord, could you do just one thing
For me especially?
Please hold my angel close to You
And say goodbye for me.
Amen

The Broken Chain  / Dee Dee (Cousin)
We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our famiy chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Christina, It still seems so unreal. We love and miss you very much. xoxoxoxo Love

Dear Stina  / Rachel Niegelberg (Friend)
Though it may have been sixth months ago that we lost you, it seems like just yesterday.  Your effect on all of us has never faded and we continue to live in your spirit everyday.  As often as it has been said, thank you for teaching us all how to live our lives with the understanding to live, love, and of course, laugh.
